Crewed vs. Bareboat Charters
Looking for the luxury of a 5-star hotel? Or perhaps private excursions and
cruising freedom top your charter wish list? When planning your charter
vacation, you'll select either a crewed or bareboat package, each with its own
unique advantages. Read on for more information, then complete our
Questionnaire designed to help you choose the
right boat.
Crewed Charters
If your picture of the perfect charter includes gourmet cuisine, plush accommodations and a full-service crew, peruse our selection of yachts and sailboats to find the right crewed package. In addition to a professional staff, you'll also benefit from a knowledgeable skipper. Familiar with local cruising grounds, your skipper will guide you to the locations you've been dreaming of - from secluded anchorages to lively ports of call. Think of a crewed charter as your own first-class hotel or deluxe waterfront resort.
Skippered Bareboat Charters
Most bareboat companies offer the option of adding a skipper for all or part
of your trip. This comes at an additional cost-between $200 and $300 per day,
plus additional food, as you are then responsible for providing his/her meals. This is a good option if you eventually want to bareboat or own your own vessel but do not feel confidant with your current skill level. Please keep in mind that this option can equal the price of some fully crewed charters and that we, as your independent yacht charter broker, cannot always help in choosing the right skipper for your interests and personalities.
Bareboat Charters
Bareboat charters are ideal for cruising enthusiasts
who are also experienced
skippers. With no crew or set schedule, you'll have the opportunity to create your own itinerary day-by-day and change course on a whim. Bareboats also afford complete privacy, making them the ultimate romantic getaway. If you're looking for all these advantages plus the hands-on fun of captaining your own ship, search our yachts and sailboats for a wide selection of bareboat options. An added bonus - with no crew to pay, bareboat charters are usually less expensive.
