General Information
Shawmanee is a 65 foot (LOA) ketch rigged gracious sailboat. Launched in 1973 from then Fairhaven
Shipyards on Bellingham Bay her name comes from "Shaman" or medicine man. The "w" and two "e's"
were added but she is still good medicine for all who come aboard and experience her safe,
spacious, comfortable elegance. She has sailed north to Alaska and south to Mexico, Hawaii and
Polynesia. |

As an USCG certified Inspected Vessel she is approved for 46 guests for day charters
and 6 for overnight, always sailing with at least three crew.
For large groups (3 to 8 hour charter) her flush decks provide ample space on deck and the large
center cockpit can button up to provide shelter in questionable weather. |
Multi day charters enjoy the privacy of four separate staterooms. Being a well designed, "real"
seagoing boat there are two heads, on port and forward the other starboard and aft, shared by all.

The aft main saloon is a great place for meals, games or just hanging out. The main saloon and
the staterooms are separated by the cockpit. This makes for psychological and physical distance
between functions making a large boat even larger

For day charters food is provided by your choice of professional caterers or your own "pot luck" affair. Contact Kathy for coordination and suggestions. Multi day charters are fed from Kathy's galley. An incredibly tasty and unending parade of wonderful food begins shortly after boarding and doesn't stop until the final docking. Food preferences, allergies etc are always considered.
